[Prompt I did for last semester. Take a character in a cafe and have them meet a stranger. GO DO SOMETHING WITH IT! And thissss...is what I did!]
Meghan was sitting down, lost in Darwin's Theory of Evolution, as she typed away at her fifteen page paper. Slowly but surely, she was chiseling away at the number of pages she had left, which was sadly still in the double digits. It was Thanksgiving break and she should be spending as much time as possible with her brother and her nieces and nephews, since it wasn't often that she got out to LA to visit him, but she had to work while she was here. The paper was due Monday. Obviously, she should have spent a little less time partying with Elle and Chrissy and a lot more time writing than she had but she was sure she'd have time to complete it. I'll work on it tomorrow and have fun tonight, she told herself on many occasions.
She'd been here for two hours now and had barely gotten two pages finished, more like a page and a half. Sighing, she decided it was time for a break. A much needed coffee break. With a little caffeine she'd be able to concentrate much better. It was these little lies that she often told herself that made her life difficult, yet time and time again she believed them.
The line wasn't very long so her procrastination would be at a minimum. She was standing at the pick up desk, next to another young woman, when they called out a venti gingerbread latte. Both reached for the same cup and looked to the other. Meghan forgot all about the drink and gasped in surprise. It was as if she was looking in a mirror, except the girl had reddish brown hair where she had blonde.
"How is this possible?" breathed the other girl, verbalizing Meghan's thoughts.
